Feyenoord sign Socceroos full-back Luke Wilkshire

Snubbed Socceroo Luke Wilkshire has left his Russian team to be a part of Dutch powerhouse Feyenoord.

Wilkshire, who was one of the last men cut from Australia’s squad for the latest World Cup in Brazil, has departed Dynamo Moscow after signing a one-year deal with Feyenoord.

The 32-year-old, a veteran of 80 internationals for the Australian National Team, had participated for Dynamo since 2008.

“Our policy is aimed to fill with great abilities from outside,” Feyenoord’s technical director Martin van Geel said to the team’s web site.

“We consider that talent can solely develop on the premise of experienced players. In that respect, Luke Wilkshire is a really welcome reinforcement.”
